,Once upon a time, there was a mighty dragon pirate. He wore a bandana on his head and an eye-patch across his left eye.
One day, he decided to set sail to find some new treasure. Unfortunately, Pirate Dragon became very sea-sick. He popped a mint into his mouth to help. But, the mint was too powerful, and he started to cough!
Roll a dice
If you get an odd number, go to [[17]]
If you get an even number, go to [[27]]Without warning, Dragon Pirate coughed up a fireball. It floated across the deck and set the sail alight. Dragon Pirate rushed below deck to grab a bucket of water. He ran back to the fire and threw the water over the flames.
Roll a dice.
If you get a 1,2 or 3, go to [[40]]
If you get a 4,5 or 6, go to [[33]]As Dragon Pirate coughs, a fireball pops out of his mouth. Luckily, it floats over the side of the boat and fizzles out in the ocean. That was lucky!
Go to [[45]]By the time Dragon Pirate throws the water on the fire, it is too late. He jumps overboard and swims back to the beach where he sits down and sadly watches his boat sink.
Game over!Luckily, the water washes over the flames and puts out the fire. Dragon Pirate breathes a sigh of relief.
Go to [[45]]Dragon Pirate decides that he still wants to go and find some new treasure. He doesn't mind feeling sea-sick and is sure he won't cough again for a while. He raises the sail and his boat drifts out to sea.
After a while, Dragon Pirate looks up and sees something that terrifies him. In the distance, an enormous wave is rising from the sea and rushing towards him. Within seconds, it is in front of his ship.
Roll a dice.
If you get a 6, go to [[43]]
Otherwise, go to [[30]]The wave crashes over the boat and soaks Dragon Pirate. He shivers in the cold, salty water but is happy that his boat is still okay.
Go to [[4]]The enormous wave crashes into the boat and rocks it from side to side. Dragon Pirate is swept off his feet and finds himself sliding towards the edge of the deck. He sees a piece of rope dangling in front of him and reaches out to grab it.
Roll a dice.
If you get an odd number, go to [[36]]
If you get an even number, go to [[21]]Now that he is soaking wet, Dragon Pirate decides to look for somewhere to sunbathe. He decides a desert island would be best and so he grabs his spyglass and takes a look.
If you would like him to look to the north, go to [[54]]
If you would like him to look to the south, go to [[55]]The rope is slippery but Dragon Pirate manages to grab hold of it tightly. He holds on as the wave washes over him and then pulls himself back onto the deck. He may be soaking wet, but he's happy to still be on the boat.
Go to [[4]]Dragon Pirate grabs hold of the rope but it is too slippery. It slides out of his hand and he washes over the side of the deck and into the sea. Luckily, there is a dolphin swimming past who gives him a lift back to shore, but his boat continues to float out to sea.
Game over!Up ahead, Dragon Pirate spots a perfect desert island. Palm trees are waving at him from the beach and the sun is cooking the sand nicely. Perfection. He sails his boat as close to the shore as he can, before jumping into the water to swim the rest of the way.
Roll a dice.
If you get a 5 or a 6, go to [[22]]
Otherwise, go to [[48]]Through the spyglass, Dragon Pirate notices a group of small, dark shapes racing towards him. He soon realises that it is a group of Pirate Sharks riding Pirate Dolphins. The sharks have Pirate Parrots on their shoulders. He starts to panic.
Roll a dice.
If you get an even number, go to [[39]]
If you get an odd number, go to [[10]]As soon as Dragon Pirate splashes into the sea, a swarm of jellyfish crowd around him and start to sting him with their tentacles. He manages to make it to the beach but he is so sore that he decides to forget his treasure and spend the rest of the day recovering on the beach.
Game over!As soon as Dragon Pirate splashes into the sea, a swarm of jellyfish race towards him. Fortunately, he is a strong swimmer and makes it to the beach before they reach him. He scrambles onto the sand and lays down to dry out.
Go to [[8]]Just as Dragon Pirate is starting to relax on the beach, he hears somebody digging in the trees behind him. He wanders over and spots an old man digging a hole.
Convinced that the man is digging up the treasure that Dragon Pirate has come to find, he decides to creep over to him to find out more.
Roll a dice.
If you get an odd number, go to [[24]]
If you get an even number, go to [[28]]The Pirate Sharks and their Pirate Parrots are soon aboard Dragon Pirate's boat. Luckily, they are in a good mood and decide to help Dragon Pirate on his quest. They point out a desert island to the north and they swim on their Pirate Dolphins to guide him there.
Once he gets to the island, Dragon Pirate thanks his new friends and scrambles onto the beach to dry off.
Go to [[8]]In his panic, Dragon Pirate doesn't know what to do. Within seconds, the Pirate Sharks and their Pirate Parrots are aboard his ship. They are very grumpy and decide they are going to take Dragon Pirate and his boat as their prisoner.
Game over!CRACK! Dragon Pirate steps on a twig and the old man spins around and sees him. Without thinking, he throws the coconut in his hand towards Dragon Pirate.
Roll a dice.
If you get a 1, 2 or 3, go to [[11]]
If you get a 4, 5 or 6, go to [[42]]Dragon Pirate manages to sneak up behind the old man who jumps when he introduces himself.
Go to [[20]]Oops! The coconut flies through the air and hits Dragon Pirate on the head. He sits down and stars start to wheel around his head. He'll definitely have a headache for a while now, and won't be able to find his treasure!
Game over!Dragon Pirate ducks just in time and the coconut sails over his head. He holds up his hands and tells the man he's not here to have a coconut fight.
Go to [[20]]The old man explains that he isn't diggin up any treasure, he is simply burying coconuts. He doesn't explain why. He tells Dragon Pirate that, if he wants to find treasure, he should follow the map. He hands Dragon Pirate a map and tells him to head to the tree that is filled with coconuts.
As Dragon Pirate leaves, the old man tells him to ''always follow his heart''.
Dragon Pirate thanks the old man and heads for the tree filled with coconut. Unfortunately, he is reading the map as he walks and doesn't notice the tree. He walks head first into it and the coconuts start to fall down around him.
If Dragon Pirate ''jumps'' out of the way, go to [[35]]
If he ''ducks'' out of the way, go to [[19]]Dragon Pirate leaps out of the way of the coconuts. Oops! He doesn't look where he's jumping and hits the tree with his head, again! This time he starts to see stars and has to spend some time waiting for his head to stop aching. No treasure for Dragon Pirate today!
Game over!Dragon Pirate ducks and dodges his way past the falling coconuts until he is well out of the way. He looks at the map and notices that the next point he needs to aim for is a cave shaped like a diamond.
All around him are palm trees and Dragon Pirate can't see any mountains, let alone a cave. He realises he needs to climb one of the trees but he is too big.
Behind one of the trees, he hears somebody singing to themself. He walks over to them and discovers a witch stirring a couldron.
She offers Dragon Pirate two potions. One will help him on his quest, the other won't.
If he drinks the green potion, go to [[46]]
If he drinks the blue potion, go to [[3]]Dragon Pirate gulps down the green potion. Within seconds he feels his body starting to change shape. The witch starts to laugh and holds up a mirror. Dragon Pirate realises with horror that he has turned into a Mouse Pirate! He scurries off into the trees before the witch can do any more damage.
Game over!Dragon Pirate gulps down the blue potion. Within seconds he feels himself shrinking down to the size of a coconut. He grabs a couple of sticks and uses them to help him climb to the top of the nearest coconut tree.
From the top, he can see a tall mountain in the distance with a cave in the shape of a diamond. Flying overhead, he sees a flock of bright red parrot. He gives a whistle and one flies down to perch next to him.
Dragon Pirate climbs onto the back of the parrot and it whisks him away to the cave. Once he steps inside, the potion wears off and he returns to his normal size.
FLAP, FLAP, FLAP. A horde of bats rush past his head as he steps into the cave. He spins around, disorientated.
Go to [[14]]Dragon Pirate crawls along the corridor being careful not to scratch himself on the stalagtites. At the end of the corridor, he finds a cave. In it, there are two stone buttons. One has a picture of a dragon on it, the other a picture of a bat.
If he pushes the button with a bat on it, go to [[14]]
If he pushes the button with a dragon on it, go to [[44]]Dragon Pirate follows the eerie laughter until he emerges in another dark cave. In the middle, dancing around a ring of candles, a group of witches are having a party. A band made entirely of monkeys are playing coconut drums to one side.
In the distance, Dragon Pirate can see another door leading onwards. He knows he needs to get there. At his feet, he conveniently finds a bunch of bananas.
If he throws the bananas to distract the monkey band and escape, go to [[47]]
If he tries to sneak past the monkeys and the witches unnoticed, go to [[18]]Dragon Pirate realises he is somewhere inside the mountain. Ahead, he sees two dark corridors leading further into the mountain. One is filled with stalactites that hand from the ceiling like teeth, the other is filled by an echoing, eerie, cackling laughter.
If he takes the corridor filled with stalactites as sharp as teeth, go to [[29]]
If he takes the corridor filled with ackling laughter, go to [[50]]A loud crunching sound fills the room. Dragon Pirate realises too late that an enormous metal cage is rapidly falling from the ceiling. Before he can react, he is trapped in the cage, and in the mountain.
Game over!Dragon Pirate picks up the bananes and throws them towards the monkey band.
Roll a dice.
If you get a 5 or a 6, go to [[6]]
Otherwise, go to [[41]]
Dragon Pirate tries his hardest to sneak around the edge of the cave quietly. Just as he gets close to the other door, he nudges a heavy rock which falls from the wall.
Roll a dice.
If you get a 1, 2 or 3, go to [[31]]
Otherwise, go to [[32]]The monkeys are distracted by the bananas and the witches don't seem to have noticed. Dragon pirate sneaks past quickly and heads out of the door on the other side of the cave.
Go to [[49]]
The monkeys are distracted by the bunch of bananas but the witches are not so easily fooled. They see them being thrown and immediately turn their wands towards Dragon Pirate.
With a flash of light, he is turned into a monkey just like those in the band. One of the witches walks over to him and hands him a coconut drum. He takes it and sadly joins the band.
Game over!Through the door, Dragon Pirate finds a hole with a ladder leading down into the ground. He scrambles down the ladder and finds himself in yet another cave.
In the middle of the room is an enormous table. On top of the table there are two cakes. Both of them have the same message on them, "Please eat me".
One of the cakes has a capital P, the other has a lower case p.
If he eats the cake with a capital ''P'', go to [[12]]
If he eats the cake with a lower case ''p'', go to [[9]]The rock thuds into the sand next to his toe but nobody seems to notice. Dragon Pirate sneaks past everyone and out through the door on the other side of the cave.
Go to [[49]]The rock tumbles down and lands on Dragon Pirate's toe. He lets out a loud howl of pain and everyone turns to look at him. The witches point their wants in his direction and a flash of light fills the cave.
When it disappears, Dragon Pirate has been turned into a monkey. One of the witches hands him a coconut drum and he wanders over to the band to join all of the other monkeys.
Game over!Dragon Pirate wolfs down the cake, but nothing seems to happen. He looks around him but suddenly realises that he can't see his legs. The cake has made him invisible!
Whilst he's been looking around, a hidden door has opened in the wall. He races through and stops in his tracks.
In the new room, a group of enormous trolls are fast asleep.
Dragon Pirate decides to use his invisibility to creep past.
Roll a dice.
If you roll a 1 or a 4, go to [[52]]
Otherwise, go to [[7]]Dragon Pirate wolfs down the cake and wipes his lips. Suddenly, bright red spots start to pop up all over his body and he begins to itch. Feeling sorry for himself, Dragon Pirate sits down in the cave and waits for the rash to disappear.
Game over!Just as Dragon Pirate is being his most sneakiest, he lets out a little burp. The trolls leap into action and start grabbing at the air. Unfortunately, one of them manages to grab Dragon Pirate and they throw him into a little cage at the side of the cave, ready to eat him later.
Game over! With his new invisibility, Dragon Pirate manages to creep as far as the trolls. He notices one of them has a large key on a chain around its neck. He reaches forward and tries to sneakily ease it over the troll's head.
Roll a dice.
If you roll an odd number, go to [[52]]
If you roll an even number, go to [[13]]The chain slips easily over the troll's head and Dragon Pirate races towards a heavy wooden door on the other side of the cave. He slides the key in and turns it quickly.
Just as he steps into the next room and locks the door behind him, his invisibility wears off.
Go to [[5]]Dragon Pirate remembers the advice he was given by the old man - ''always remember to follow your heart'', and heads through the door marked with a heart.
On the other side, there is a long, narrow corridor. He runs along it as quickly as he can, but doesn't notice that there is a pressure pad on the floor. With a soft //pfffft// sound, five darts are fired out of the wall.
For each of the five darts, roll a dice.
If you manage to avoid rolling any 6s on the five dice, go to [[2]]
If you score a 6 on any of your rolls, Dragon Pirate is hit by a dart and falls asleep. Game over!In the room is a pile of sparkling diamonds. Each one looks more valuable than anything Dragon Pirate has seen before.
If he grabs the diamonds to take back to his ship, go to [[38]]
If he heads back into the room, go to [[5]]Just as Dragon Pirate steps into the room, he realises that there is a deep pit in front of him. Worse still, it's filled with snakes!
He wobbles for a moment and tries to lean back before he falls in.
Roll a dice.
If you get a 2 or a 4, go to [[37]]
Otherwise, go to [[53]]Dragon Pirate loses his balance and falls into the pit of snakes. After a few bites, he manages to clamber back out but his adventure is definitely over. He sits down and waits for a while before heading back to his boat and sailing home.
Game over!He wobbles on his feet for a second but manages to get his balance. Dragon Pirate heads back into the room.
Go to [[5]]In the room, there are three doors. Each one has a picture engraved on the front: a heart, a diamond and a skull.
If he enters the door marked with a heart, go to [[25]]
If he enters the door marked with a diamond, go to [[34]]
If he enters the door marked with a skull, go to [[51]]As Dragon Pete starts to grab the diamonds, a secret door opens and a pair of angry, hairy yetis rush into the room. They are the protectors of the diamonds and they quickly grab Dragon Pirate and drag him away to their yeti prison.
Game over!At the end of the corridor, a riddle is engraved into a rock. Ahead of Dragon Pirate there are two more doors. One is shaped in a circle, the other as a diamond.
The riddle says, "What is the beginning of the end, but also the end of the beginning?"
If he steps through the diamond door, go to [[16]]
If he steps through the circle door, go to [[15]]In the room is a pile of sparkling diamonds. Each one looks more valuable than anything Dragon Pirate has seen before.
As Dragon Pirate grabs the diamonds, they begin to turn to dust in his hands. Suddenly, he finds himself slipping down a growing mountain of grey sand and, before long, he is blocked into the room with no escape.
Game over!As Dragon Pirate steps through the circle door, bright sunlight floods over him. He realises he is back on the beach on the other side of the mountain.
In front of him is a glass bottle that has washed up on shore. He opens it to find a message scribbled on a piece of paper.
''Head back home!''
He realises that he needs to head back to his boat and so quickly races along the beach. Just as he gets close, he spots shadowy figures moving about on deck.
If he runs away from the shadows, go to [[26]]
If he decides to confront the shadows, go to [[23]]Dragon Pirate runs away from the shadows and back into the middle of the island. Unfortunately, he spends the next week digging holes trying to find the treasure but never does. In the end, he heads back to his boat and sails home.
Game over!Dragon Pirate creeps onto his boat. Out of nowhere, a bucket of water is thrown over his head. When he can see again, he realises that the shadows were all of his friends from home and that they have thrown him a surprise water party for his birthday! They all have buckets of water to throw at each other and a big table of food has been set up.
It may not have been the treasure he was looking for, but Dragon Pirate definitely considers it a successful trip!
